Investing In Your Self

Some of the things I learned by watching The Secret and learning to apply the Law Of Attraction. I found out that if something is not working that I need to change my course of action. If I do nothing then nothing comes to me. I am not the type of person to do nothing but I did need to change my course of action.

I have two people in my life that are very successful and great friends to me. I have attached a dream to be like them. They have proven themselves and when I need advice I turn to them. I could ask anyone for the advice but if that person has not achieved what I am looking to achieve then I would be wasting my time. A good mentor is of vital importance and I am fortunate enough to have two.

What is it you want? Is the only thing holding you back a lack of knowledge about whatever it is you want? Commit to learning and bridge that gap, you can achieve your goal. Choose something that you are suited to and that will make you happy. Invest money in books courses that will teach you to be a success at what it is you want.

You spend money on things to maintain your home, your car and your health. But when it comes to investing in what you need to live the life you want many say that is too much money. Do you not think it is worth it to invest in developing your skills? If you want to join those at the top of your field you must make investments.

"The Secret" and the Science of Getting Rich - by Cheryl Mcneil

Have you heard of the DVD called "the Secret"? Well it isn't such a secret anymore. The DVD was released in March 2006 and according to Time Magazine, the DVD has sold 500,000 units within the first 6 months. Today it sells well over 5,000 copies a day! It ranked in Amazon's Top-5 sellers during Christmas week; and a tie-in hardcover book just entered the Top 10 on the New York times bestseller list.

The amazing thing about "the Secret" is that you won't find it in your local Blockbuster or Barnes and Noble, it is selling briskly through new-age bookstores, New Thought churches like Unity and AGape and the official website at www.thesecret.tv. "It's become the biggest selling item in the 30-year history of our store," says Harmony Rose Allor, a buyer at West Hollywood's popular metaphysical bookshop, The Bodhi Tree. it is "word-of-mouth" marketing at it best.

So what is the secret to "the Secret's" success? It's is a "transformational movie", where a person's view on life and the laws of life will no longer be the same after watching this movie. In a sense, it has created the same kind of effect as "the Da Vinci Code" and the 2004 hit cult movie "What the Bleep Do We Know". Are You One Of The Masses?

As I was listening to Bob Proctor on the Science of Getting Rich CD”s yesterday something really struck home with me.

Being an avid believer in The Law Of Attraction I listen to all I can from Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield and the rest of the teachers of The Secret.

Bob was talking about walking into any high rise in any city at noon and how you would almost be trampled because everyone was leaving. The question he posed was why are they all leaving. Because they are going to lunch. Then he went on to say do you think all of these people are hungry at the same time? Of course not but they follow the masses.

I was thinking about this all night as I lay awake listening to more CD’s and just reflecting and at 4am I could stand it no more and had to come to my computer and write about it.

The law of attraction teaches us that thoughts become things. You think of something and you visualize it and you know it is happening. You will not know exactly when it will manifest itself but it is happening the minute you start thinking of it and believing it.

Someone thought noon was the time to eat lunch and they believed that so strongly that it did manifest itself and now noon is when corporate America eats their lunch. What a perfect example of how the law of attraction works.

Myself I have never been into corporate America, traveled to the beat of a different drum as the song says. I am so grateful for what I have and what I accomplish on a daily basis. I work from home and have the time with my children and my husband that I cherish. Now don’t get me wrong I am not bashing anyone that loves their job as I know many people do. I am just so grateful that I do not have to be part of that world.

My husband has worked hard all his life and supported me and the children, he got up at the same time each morning, worked his 16-17 hours a day, came home ate dinner, spent a few minutes with us, took a bath and went to bed. I missed him terribly and so did the children. He provided very well for us but the cost was not worth it to me.

A couple of years ago I started to think of how I could help him and remain at home. I was on the internet searching around for things to do from home and I was introduced to network marketing.

Everyone laughed at me and told me I would never do anything with that except make someone else rich. My thoughts were “what is it you do when you go to your job each day and work for someone else?” They are making someone else rich. Someone that holds their future in their hands, you might go in to work tomorrow to find that the company has been sold, gone bankrupt or just doesn’t need your services anymore. In todays economy that is a great possibility and as most of Americans are 2 paychecks away from the street can you afford to give that kind of power to someone else?

I started my home based business amidst laughter from everyone I knew, except my husband that said you are going to bring me home with the family. It was so negative that I quit discussing it with anyone from my family or friends circle. I had to duck the negative vibrations and let them go right past me.

I had no experience in this industry but loved the fact that I could work when I wanted, take a nap in the daytime if I chose, grab the kids and go off to the store when I decided it was a good time to go and had no one to dictate my hours to me.

Sally, who I met through my home business kept telling me about this movie called The Secret. I kept telling her I would watch it and six months went by and I never had. I had a new affiliate in my business, Johnny and he asked me if I had seen The Secret and I got to thinking about it and decided perhaps I needed to watch it. Three days later it was in my mailbox. Johnny who I did not know except through a phone conversation about my business had thought enough of me to send it to me. I am so grateful to him and always shall be.

My husband and I sat down and watched it that night. I started to read all I could find on the law of attraction and the other laws of the universe. I ordered books, cd’s and googled everything I could find on it. I learned to apply the law of attraction to my life. You can not just watch The Secret and know how to use this law in your life. I started to think of things and visualize them and would know they were happening and would manifest themselves. I would give my goals a date once I thought of them and held those thoughts daily for a period of time. Some happened within the time I thought they would some were quicker and some took longer but each of them that I truly wanted came to me. My goal of opening a shelter for abused women is happening right now, I don’t know how and it is not my place to know how but it is happening. When the opportunity presents itself know what the opportunity is.

My husband is home with me and the kids, we both now work in the home based business industry and we have a great life.

A few months ago I was thinking of ways to help others and that is when I came up with building this website. I had spent so much money advertising, buying leads and building my business with little help that once I learned the things to do I wanted to share that with others.

Neither of us had a clue how to really build a site, with all the html code, the java script, getting ranked with Alexa and so forth. We learned a lot from searching the internet and then we had people that just introduced their self to us through email or instant messenger and offered to teach us things. One person in particular stands out in my mind, a young man named Patrick. He taught us so much and we are so thankful to have met you and have your help.

My goal that I thought of and held in my mind daily came to be in April of this year with my website www.youcanhavethesecret.com where I sell leads at wholesale prices, offer coaching, have resources for the webmaster, affordable advertising and much more. You see I wanted to be able to make it affordable for the beginner as well as the veteran.

The law of attraction works, I attracted these people I have spoke of into my life and many more that I have not listed here. They have all been a great help to me in building my businesses. I will soon be attracting the people to help me with my shelter as I know nothing about the legalities of it but have the strongest of desires to have this shelter for abused women. I hold this thought in my mind daily.

Do all these things come without you taking some sort of action? Absolutely not, remember I said you must know the opportunity when it presents itself to you.

I love this saying and have it posted above my computer where I see it each day of my life. It goes like this: I believe the world is plotting to do me good today. I can’t wait to see what it is.

The Law Of Allowing

The Law Of Attraction and Receiving

There has been much hype surrounding the movie The Secret. The skeptics would have you believe it does not work. These people have used The Law Of Attraction to get where they are today. Many would have us believe it does not work because of their greed. There is plenty to go around. The laws of the universe are The Law of Attraction, The law of Deliberate Creation and The Law Of Allowing.

The Law Of Attraction teaches us that Like attracts Like. We are fields of energy that vibrate at many different frequencies constantly. Every thought, word and action is sent out into the universe. These vibrations attract like vibrations.

The Law Of Deliberate Creation is when you focus on something with clarity and a very positive emotion at a given time and you release it into the universe. Once released you must believe it to be true. When you order something online you believe it and expect it to come to you. This is the same principle and you must believe that it is already yours. There are 3 steps to Deliberate Creation: 1. Ask 2. Believe ( The universe responds.) 3. Recieve. You continually ask so step 1 is very easy. The universe responds without fail so there is no messing this step up either. Step 3 is where we get in trouble. You must remain in a positive emotion to receive what you have asked for. Negative emotions block you from receiving what you have asked for.

The Law Of Allowing can only happen once you fully understand The Law of Attraction and The Law of Deliberate Creation. You must allow the universe to give you what you have asked for in order to receive it.

Some Rebuttals To The LOA

I was thinking of a call I was on recently where some keynote speakers were giving their thoughts and beliefs of The Law Of Attraction.

I was shocked by a comment that children are born into abusive homes or to parents that are alcoholics etc... because they chose that before birth.

That is going a step too far for me. I do not believe we choose our parents and why would we choose to be born into abuse?

These children are victims of circumstance, born to parents that should have done the right thing and given them up for adoption where they could have had a good life. I take great exception to these speakers making such statements. That would mean that I chose to be molested as a young child by a family member or to be raped and almost murdered as a teenager. No one would make that choice.

To believe that we choose our parents would to me say that there is no God and I know there is a God and he has seen me through all that was wrong in my life.

I do believe that we must overcome what has happened in our lives and make ourselves a better person because of it. I know that I have and though I would not wish my experiences on anyone all these experiences made me stronger.

I said in a previous post that I have a goal of opening a shelter for abused women and that I had very personal reasons for wanting to do so. I also was in a very abusive marriage and I did not choose that either, yes I chose the marriage but the man never showed any signs of this until after our marriage. I lived on the streets with a young child to get away from it as there was no room in any shelters. It was a choice and I would make that same choice again.

All of these experiences made me a stronger person and lead me to the wonderful man I have been married to for the last 18 years. These experiences changed me in ways that I do not think I could ever make anyone understand. I have forgiven all that did me wrong and put it in my past where it belongs.

Though I believe that The Law Of Attraction works I also know that nothing comes to you without taking some form of action to make it work. You must know the opportunity when it presents itself to you and decide if it is the right opportunity and take action if it is the opportunity you are looking for.

I have taken action on the things I want to happen in my life. I write down my goals and keep them where I can see them every day. I keep them on the wall behind my computer where I spend many hours a day. When you have something in front of you each day not only do you see it but you begin to believe it and with that belief comes action to make it come true.

So yes the Law Of Attraction does work and you are the one that makes it work. No one can do this for you. People can be placed in front of you that will be of great help to you as they have with me but know them when you see them.

I have wanted to write a book my whole life. I have taken no action on this and I will not sit back and say well the LOA has not brought this to me. I have not written the first page so how can I know if I can be successful at this or not. I do write a lot such as poetry, short stories for my grandchildren that I am raising and in blogs. I have not started my book and I know now that the time is very near as I am older and very clear on what I want to write about. I want to share my life, the good and the bad with others and if in doing so I help one person then I will consider myself successful.

I am a very strong advocate of The Secret and the LOA but when it comes to people making statements like those I told of then I can not sit back and let anyone think that for one minute I believe that. I know that there were almost 20,000 people that heard the same thing I did and if they see my site or any of my blogs I do not want them to think for a minute that I believe we choose to be born to abusive homes or to be molested or raped. That is ludicrous.

I have done a lot of research and will be starting a book soon, I believe I will call it The Unsheltered Life. I would appreciate anyones stories that they would like to add to mine of bad childhoods, abusive marriages, rape, molestation by family members and how it changed their life and made them a better person and how they went on to be successful in life. I would like for millions of people to read it and know that there is hope no matter what and that someone loves them and will help them.

LOA In My Life

A year ago I had never heard of The Secret or The Law Of Attraction. Thanks to a member of my downline who was intuitive enough to mail it to me I learned it very quickly.

I watched The Secret daily for months, even played it over and over while I slept. I made it a point to apply The LOA to my life.

I started small with things like I will find a great parking space when I go to the store today. I never parked far away again. I was so excited by just this small thing that I felt it was time to move to something larger.

I wanted to meet Jack Canfield, being affiliated with one of his companies, Chicken Soup For The Soul Wellness Club, reading his books on personal development gave me a huge desire to know this man. I wrote this goal down and placed in on the wall behind my computer where I could see it daily.

Soon after this I had the fortune to make friends with a man through my home business. He knows Jack very well and we were talking and I told him I would love to meet Jack. He asked me how bad I wanted it and I said I wanted it very badly, it was on my vision board. He told me to be in Houston in 2 weeks and he would introduce me. Since I live in Texas this was not going to be hard to accomplish. I could see the LOA working in my life and bringing the right kind of people into my life.

I was talking with another friend of mine, also through my home business, about advertising and we started talking about how expensive it is and how necessary to be successful. We spoke of having our own sites and offering advertising on them. I knew nothing about building a real website, sure I had built some with the likes of Yahoo Site Builder that are easy and require no knowledge of html codes or java script but to really build a site, no way.

I made this a goal and started researching on Google constantly. I thought about names for the site and knew I would need something really catchy. I knew that The Secret would not be an available domain name but wanted something related. I went to godaddy.com and searched and came up with youcanhavethesecret for a domain.

I then found a hosting company to build a site and though I still did not have the knowledge I knew that it would happen. I was on my instant messenger and this man started talking to me and requested to be added as one of my friends and he started teaching me all about building a site. He does this for a living and I can not tell you how much he helped me. He taught me things I could not have learned in years researching it on my own. Again people were being placed in my life at the time I needed them.

I know there are those that are skeptical about The Secret, I have had some tell me that they can't believe in it and believe in God. My answer to that is that to me it is all about my faith in God. I know that with enough faith that I can accomplish anything. I know that we all look at this in our own way and that is my way. I can tell you story after story of how my life has changed since watching this movie, reading the books and applying it to my life. Some are very simple and some are truly amazing.

My newest goal is to build a shelter for abused women in my area. We have many as I live in the DFW metroplex but there are just not enough. I have very personal reasons for wanting to do this and though I do not know how I do know that it will happen. The right people will be placed before me once again.
